Last Friday (2 August), Chinese automobile manufacturer NIO announced their first product developed in partnership with the world’s gaming hardware brand Razer – The NIO ES6 Night Explorer, which integrates Razer’s recognizable vibrant color palette and top-tier technology.
While the model’s design is recognizably NIO and has been built on the NIO ES6 Performance Edition, the Razer trim dresses the SUV up in carbon fibre decals, green callipers, Razer logo and trim, and adds a custom emblem to the rear.
Naturally, such a game hardware-inspired car would not be complete without Razer’s Chroma and Hue Lights and THX Spatial Audio, features that have been integrated with the tech already existing within the model. In terms of performance, the electric SUV features a maximum output of 544 horsepower, 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, and a braking distance of 33.9 meters from 100-0 km/h.

Priced at ¥467,800 (Approximately S$91,850), the NIO ES6 Night Explorer will be available for purchase in China as of Friday. But, there’s a catch. In keeping with the luckiest number in Chinese culture, only 88 custom units were manufactured. On the bright side, according to a press release issued from NIO, this is just the beginning of an ongoing partnership with Razer.
